The venue is centrally located in the Hunter Valley on Old Punt Rd in Tomago. 8kms from Raymond Terrace. 1Okms from Maitland. 12kms from the Newcastle City Centre.
Description
The speedway makes for an action packed family outing that is hard to beat. The roar, shake and rumble of the on-track action is supplemented with on-site food and beverages including liquor. The grandstand provides a great view of all the action whilst the lawn that surrounds the track makes for a comfy family setting. Bring along blankets, cushions and folding chairs if you wish. A great setting for a picnic style outing with unbeatable action packed entertainment.
Facilities
Originally known as "Jerilderie Park", the Newcastle Speedway as it stands now has been through a 26 year evolution to get to where it is today.
The Peter Gurbiel administration promoted the venue for it's first 21 years, in that time it was transformed into the Wynns Newcastle Motordrome - a tag that sticks even now.
Sydney promoter David Lander and his partners purchased the lease over a year ago and renamed the venue "Wynns Newcastle Speedway".
Since then, numerous improvements have taken place, including the safety fence, an infield concrete wall, new admission stalls, improved canteen facilities and a general beautification of the complex.
