Goat Section

Maitland Show and goats have had a very long association, with the section being located in several positions on the grounds, now next to the Beef Cattle adjacent to Louth Park Road.

Since the provision of special facilities the section has attracted breeders from many parts of NSW together with those from the Hunter and surrounds, providing over 130 goats and around 50 mohair fleeces for exhibition and competition.

Competitive classes are provided for three breeds of goats; Dairy, Boer and Angora Goats. Included with the Angoras are competitive classes for the judging of mohair fleeces.

Schedule booklet, with entry forms and health declaration forms, covering all breeds is available on request at the Show Office.

Judging will be on Sunday 21st February 2010 at 9am, with entries closing Friday 12th February.
