Maitland Art Prize
HUNTER RIVER AGRICULTURAL & HORTICULTURAL ASSOCIATION MAITLAND ART PRIZE
1957-2010
The Maitland Art Prize is a long established and prestigious country art prize. The Art Prize was established in 1957 and winners until 2005 formed the nucleus of the Maitland Regional Gallery Permanent Collection.
In 2008 the Maitland Art Prize Committee launched the inaugural year of the Maitland Sculpture Prize sponsored by the Hunter River Agricultural and Horticultural Association.
Judges are chosen from the ranks of Directors of major art institutions and art academics.
