Cattle Clinic
Children urged to take part in show cattle clinic
School children are being invited to take part in a cattle clinic at this year's Maitland Mercury 2010 Hunter River Super Show.
Organiser Ralph Ward said the Hunter River Agricultural and Horticultural Association are running the event to give schools the opportunity to gain valuable information from industry professionals. "The future of agriculture is the kids," he said.
Schools have been invited to participate in the clinic, which will involve three major sections: cattle judging, a paraders competition and a steers competition.
The cattle judging will include team and individual events.
The team events will be judged in age categories of 12 years and under, 13 to 16 years and 17 years and older.
For more information on the cattle section or cattle clinics, contact the Maitland Showground Office on 4933 5052.
